2009 Alta Bates Summit Celebrity Golf & Tennis Classic
The 18th Annual Golf & Tennis Celebrity Classic did the heart good and benefited Alta Bates Summit Medical Center’s Cardiovascular Services. The proceeds from the Classic will fund life saving equipment for Cardiovascular Services, such as 1) technologically advanced ultrasound machines that allow physicians to better visualize blocked arteries; 2) 3D digital imaging of heart anatomy to assist with diagnosing and treating cardiac arrhythmias; and 3) sophisticated laser high speed imaging that enables surgeons to assess cardiac blood flow which may reduce post-operative complications and interventions.
The 2009 Celebrity Classic was another exciting and fun event. The popular golf tournament was held at the beautiful Diablo County Club on September 14. The Celebrity Pro/Am tennis tournament, at the historic Berkeley Tennis Club on September 26, featured the #1 doubles team in the country, The Bryan Brothers, playing in exhibition matches on Center Court. Media celebrities and local tennis pros played doubles throughout the day with sponsored players. The Classic finale was a “Return to Monte Carlo” at the Claremont Resort and Spa in Berkeley. Guests experienced the thrill and excitement of casino gaming, fine wine and dined on delicious variety of international cuisine.
The dates for the 2010 Classic have already been reserved so mark your calendars: Golf on September 20 at Diablo Country Club and tennis on October 2 at Berkeley Tennis Club with the finale at the Claremont Resort & Spa in Berkeley.
